Torus

About the Sculpture

“The ‘Torus’ is more than just a sculpture; it is an invitation to reflect on the invisible forces that permeate our lives. The work explores the themes of connectedness, energy and the interaction between humans and the environment, allowing these to be experienced in a sensory way.
The lighting effects lend the object a vibrant presence and bring different moods and states to life.
Complemented by a specially composed soundscape, the invisible field becomes tangible in its harmonious and disharmonious manifestations.
Light and sound merge into an atmospheric whole, opening up an intuitive access to the tensions between balance and disruption, tranquillity and dynamism.
This creates a space of experience between the visible and the invisible, between material form and immaterial perception.
This creates a space of experience between the visible and the invisible, between material form and immaterial perception. The ‘Torus’ invites visitors to sharpen their own perception and to reflect on the forces that influence our thoughts, feelings and actions.
As an artistic metaphor, the work opens up scope for personal interpretation and new perspectives on the interplay between the inner and outer worlds. The invisible field can also be understood as a symbol of respectful coexistence – of the awareness that every action has an effect and that harmony arises where mutual respect, openness and connectedness are practised.
The ‘Torus’ serves as a reminder that we are part of a shared field that is shaped by the way we behave towards ourselves and others.
